After saying I’m going to be posting more often I haven’t been but I’ve not been very well and just came out of the hospital so I can blog again my lovelies. I’m meant to rest for a couple of days so I’ll just set up a blogging station on our sofa bed, put some Netflix on (Orange Is The New Black is on Netflix!) and finally catch up on some blogging!
As I’ve already said, I started my A-Level exams last week. Now that I’ve done all but one, I can stop stressing a little bit and spend more time on here yaaay!
But let’s get to today’s post, you know the saying ‘Fake it till’ you make it’? Well, I think wearing the right outfit for your exam can make you do better. Especially in verbal exams, you want to look like you know it all, right?
And no, I don’t mean wear fake glasses. I’ve prepared some outfit ideas for you which will help you feel smarter in your exams while still being comfortable and of course, super stylish!
The first outfit I created is perfect for a morning exam, after all, it’s summer so why not go a bit nautical for a day and give your outfit a unique spin with colourful elements on the always-fashionable-in-summer nautical base. I start putting outfits together with one statement piece and work around it, in this outfit, it was the gorgeous Alice + Olivia shoes (which are now on sale here). I also chose the nautical trousers which will make anyone’s legs look longer so dare to wear them, even if you’re on the shorter side. As you all know, double denim is the trend to wear now and so I chose the hot-right-now cut-out crop top in the same colour as the base of the trousers to create some unity in between the two while not being too matchy-matchy boring. I then looked closer at the colours on the Alice + Olivia shoes and decided to finish this outfit off by adding elements which would make it look all put together but interesting at the same time. To make the look more appropriate for an exam, I added a bright yellow jacket to make the outfit eye-catching while looking professional. I always think that a belt worn with a high-waisted pair of trousers can make your waist look slimmer and accent it more which is why I chose this bright Gucci belt to tie the look together. The fun, super-glossy orange lip gloss would also bring out the colour of the belt and the pattern on the shoes. The bag and nail varnish go together perfectly and are another colour taken from the shoe pattern. Hope you like!
One of the hottest sets to wear right now are the cropped trousers, but a lot of aspiring fashionistas struggle with how to wear them. This set is a perfect example of how to effectively wear the cropped pant and look super-chic. I paired them with a red striped peplum top because I love textures and patterns in clothes, they just make them so much more interesting! I also matched quite a heavy cobalt blue necklace which is just so gorgeous as well as putting a cobalt Kate Spade tote to go with it. The earrings also carry a blue vibe with a galaxy feel to it, just to mix it up even more. I kept the shoes simple, with these black strappy heels which are so universal! Black strappy heels are definitely on my wishlist this season but I can’t find the perfect pair for me! I’ll keep searching until I find some!
This outfit started out with another pair of strappy heels although, these are anything but simple. Their design is so beautiful I instantly fell in love with them! I based the whole outfit around them, with the yellow pencil skirt (one of this season’s hottest trends) bringing out the tiny yellow part of the floral pattern, as well as the mint coloured top which I kept the same as the front strap of the shoe. I also put a belt around the peplum of the top to define the waist and really underline the proportions of it. The jewellery is also gorgeous but kept in the pastel shade of the floral pattern, with a gold chain mixing in on the bracelet and some fuschia coloured gems on the earrings. I finished the whole look with the classic Chanel 2.55 bag in a gorgeous bottle green colour.
This outfit is definitely one for a summer exam, or for the office, with a brightly patterned dress and accessories kept in the same colours as the dress, it’s definitely a winner. I fell in love with this lovely and unique elephant-shaped handbag. The floral pattern is quite loud so if you don’t want all the attention on you, wear it with simple accessories like the ones I picked out. The rings and bracelets are the same colour as the floral pattern on the dress and the heels and bag are nude to make this outfit more chic and the nude shoes will make your legs look longer which is always a do! The blue jewellery also has a gold metal in it, which is why I chose the leaf-shaped earrings to compliment that and the nature theme in this outfit and added a simple gold necklace to finish it off.
The last outfit idea I prepared is a new spin on the classic white shirt. The twist starts with the white shirt not being the ‘classic’ shape, it’s a shirt which ties at the waist, yet it remains to be elegant. I added some pretty yellow shorts which make this outfit outstanding and unique while still being formal enough for the office or for an exam. I kept accessories in the same colours as the bow on the shorts but wanted them to have interesting shapes (I’m a sucker for unique jewellery). I picked these exquisite spider-shaped earrings and matched this gorgeous Versace ring and a simple necklace to be worn over the shirt. The shoes and bag I matched to this outfit are classics which can be worn with anything.
I hope you liked the outfit ideas and let me know which one you liked best in the comments!
